Avinyó Street
Running from Carrer Ferran to Carrer Ample, Carrer d'Avinyó is a typical central street, with lots of places to drink and eat that are almost always full of young people.
Picasso found inspiration to paint his famous Les Demoiselles d'Avignon in a brothel located on this street; the painting does not refer to the French town, as many people think, but to this street in Barcelona.
This is very agreeable place for a late-afternoon stroll, as it manages to preserve all the charm it had centuries ago, and yet the buildings and shops along it are full of life.
